Where does New Year's Eve come from?

New Year’s Eve, also known as the end of the year, is a holiday celebrated worldwide on the last day of the year. But where does this tradition come from?

Its origins can be traced back to Roman times, when the end of the lunar year was celebrated (around mid-March). With the adoption of the Julian calendar, the start of the year was moved to January 1st. It wasn’t until the Middle Ages that the celebration of the new year’s arrival on the night of December 31st began.

In Spain, the New Year’s Eve celebration became popular in the 1920s with the tradition of the lucky grapes.

According to this tradition, twelve grapes must be eaten, one for each stroke of the clock that marks the arrival of the new year, to attract good luck

To get them, you need to make the reservation before 12/7, and you will receive a 15% discount on the menu price.

You have three ways to make the reservation:

What does the menu include?

The menu includes 6 dishes to savor and a cocktail to refresh your palate between starters and mains. They are inspired by Mediterranean cuisine.

Appetizers
Nigiri of potato and scallop, enhanced with truffled yolk, complemented with herring roe and a delicate teriyaki sauce. Blini served with smooth sour cream, a subtle touch of lime, and the refined flavor of salmon gravlax with Ponzu sauce. Exquisite goat cheese praline filled with fig jam and coated in vibrant green pistachio.
First Starter
Gourmet cannelloni filled with lobster and select porcini mushrooms, bathed in a creamy red shrimp béchamel sauce and accompanied by juicy red shrimps.
Second Starter
Delicate low-temperature-cooked sirloin tacos, accompanied by a foie gras mousse, Portobello ragout, and a Pedro Ximénez reduction.
Cocktail
Mini gin-lemon.
Second courses
Medallion of monkfish resting on a sea urchin cream, accompaniedby baby vegetables and enhanced with lumpfish roe.
Second courses
Juicy confit suckling pig, complemented with a leek and potato cake, smoked chestnut cream, and a silky demi-glace sauce.
Dessert
Tiramisu bar accompanied by a quenelle of coffee ice cream.
